தாவீது தன் குமாரனாகிய சாலொமோனை நோக்கி: நீ பலங்கொண்டு தைரியமாயிருந்து, இதை நடப்பி; நீ பயப்படாமலும் கலங்காமலும் இரு; தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் என்னும் என் தேவன் உன்னோடே இருப்பார்; கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டுகிறதற்கடுத்த சகல கிரியைகளையும் நீ முடித்துத் தீருமட்டும், அவர் உன்னைவிட்டு விலகவுமாட்டார், உன்னைக் கைவிடவுமாட்டார்.

தாவீது மேலும் தன் மகன் சாலொமோனிடம், “உறுதியாக இரு. தைரியமாக இந்த வேலையை முடித்துவிடு. பயப்படாதே. ஏனென்றால் என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னோடும் இருப்பார். அனைத்து வேலைகளும் முடியும்வரை அவர் உனக்கு உதவுவார். அவர் உன்னை விட்டுப் போகமாட்டார். கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தை நீ கட்டி முடிப்பாய்.
