அப்பொழுது சவுல் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: நிதானமாய்க் கட்டளையிட்டு யதார்த்தத்தை விளங்கப்பண்ணும் என்றான்; அப்பொழுது யோனத்தான்மேலும் சவுலின் மேலும் சீட்டு விழுந்தது, ஜனங்களோ தப்பினார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது சவுல் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: நிதானமாய்க் கட்டளையிட்டு உண்மையை விளங்கச்செய்யும் என்றான்; அப்பொழுது யோனத்தான்மேலும் சவுலின்மேலும் சீட்டு விழுந்தது, மக்களோ தப்பினார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது சவுல், “இஸ்ரவேலரின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, உமது தொண்டனுக்கு இன்று ஏன் பதில் சொல்லவில்லை? நானோ அல்லது என் மகனோ பாவம் செய்திருந்தால், ஊரீம்மைத் தாரும். உம்முடைய இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் பாவம் செய்திருந்தால் தும்மீம்மைத் தாரும்” என்று ஜெபித்தான். சவுலும் யோனத்தானும் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டனர். ஜனங்கள் தப்பினார்கள்.
