கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்ட இந்தப் புஸ்தகத்தினுடைய வார்த்தைகளினிமித்தம் நீங்கள் போய், எனக்காகவும் இஸ்ரவேலிலும் யூதாவிலும் மீதியானவர்களுக்காகவும் கர்த்தரிடத்தில் விசாரியுங்கள்; இந்தப் புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிற எல்லாவற்றின்படியேயும் செய்யும்படிக்கு கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையை நம்முடைய பிதாக்கள் கைக்கொள்ளாதேபோனபடியினால், நம்மேல் மூண்ட கர்த்தருடைய உக்கிரம் பெரியது என்றான்.

கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்ட இந்தப் புத்தகத்தினுடைய வார்த்தைகளினிமித்தம் நீங்கள் போய், எனக்காகவும், இஸ்ரவேலிலும், யூதாவிலும் மீதியானவர்களுக்காகவும் கர்த்தரிடத்தில் விசாரியுங்கள்; இந்தப் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிற எல்லாவற்றின்படியேயும் செய்யும்படிக்கு கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையை நம்முடைய முன்னோர்கள் கைக்கொள்ளாமல் போனதால், நம்மேல் மூண்ட கர்த்தருடைய கடுங்கோபம் பெரியது என்றான்.

அரசன், “செல்லுங்கள் எனக்காக கர்த்தரிடம் கேளுங்கள். இஸ்ரவேலிலும், யூதாவிலும் மிச்சமுள்ள ஜனங்களுக்காகக் கேளுங்கள். கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்ட புத்தகத்தில் உள்ள சொற்களைப்பற்றி கேளுங்கள். நமது முற்பிதாக்கள் அவரது வார்த்தைகளுக்கு அடிபணியவில்லை என்பதால் கர்த்தர் நம் மீது கோபமாக இருக்கிறார். இந்தப் புத்தகம் செய்ய சொன்னவற்றையெல்லாம் அவர்கள் செய்யவில்லை!” என்றான்.
