அப்பொழுது அவன் தன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவாகப்போகிற தன் சேஷ்டபுத்திரனைப் பிடித்து, அலங்கத்தின்மேல் அவனைச் சர்வாங்க தகனமாக பலியிட்டான்; அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலர்மேல் கடுங்கோபம் மூண்டதினால், அவர்கள் அவனைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, தங்கள் தேசத்திற்குத் திரும்பி விட்டார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது அவன் தன்னுடைய இடத்தில் ராஜாவாகப்போகிற தன் மூத்த மகனைப் பிடித்து, மதிலின்மேல் அவனைச் சர்வாங்க தகனமாகப் பலியிட்டான்; அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலர்கள்மேல் கடுங்கோபம் ஏற்பட்டதால், அவர்கள் அவனைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, தங்கள் தேசத்திற்குத் திரும்பிவிட்டார்கள்.

பிறகு தன்னைத் தொடர்ந்து ஆட்சியில் அமர இருக்கிற தன் மூத்த மகனை மோவாபின் அரசன் அழைத்தான். நகரைச்சுற்றியுள்ள சுவரில் தன் மகனையே சர்வாங்க தகனபலியாகச் செலுத்தினான். இது இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களைப் பெரிதும் பாதித்தது. எனவே அவர்கள் மோவாபை விட்டு விட்டு தங்கள் நாட்டிற்குப் போய்விட்டனர்.
