அவர்கள் வழியில் இருக்கிறபோதே, அப்சலோம் ராஜகுமாரரையெல்லாம் அடித்துக் கொன்றுபோட்டான், அவர்களில் ஒருவரும் மீந்திருக்க விடவில்லை என்கிறதாய், தாவீதுக்குச் செய்தி வந்தது.

அரசனின் மகன்கள் தங்கள் நகரத்தை நோக்கி பயணம் செய்துக்கொண்டிருந்தனர். ஆனால் நிகழ்ந்தவற்றைப் பற்றிய செய்தியை தாவீது அரசன் முந்திக் கேள்விப்பட்டான். ஆனால் அவனறிந்தச் செய்தி, “அரசனின் எல்லா மகன்களையும் அப்சலோம் கொன்றுவிட்டான். ஒருவன் கூட உயிரோடு விடப்படவில்லை” என்பதாகும்.
