அப்பொழுது அப்னேர் அவனை நோக்கி: நீ வலது பக்கத்திற்காகிலும் இடதுபக்கத்திற்காகிலும் விலகி வாலிபரில் ஒருவனைப் பிடித்து அவனை உரிந்துகொள் என்றான் ஆசகேலோ விடமாட்டேன் என்று தொடர்ந்துபோனான்.

அப்பொழுது அப்னேர் அவனை நோக்கி: நீ வலதுபக்கத்திலோ இடதுபக்கத்திலோ விலகி, வாலிபர்களில் ஒருவனைப் பிடித்து அவனுடைய ஆயுதங்களை எடுத்துக்கொள் என்றான்; ஆசகேலோ விடமாட்டேன் என்று தொடர்ந்துபோனான்.

அப்னேர் ஆசகேலைத் தாக்க விரும்பவில்லை. எனவே அப்னேர் ஆசகேலை நோக்கி, “என்னைத் துரத்துவதைவிட்டு, இளம் வீரர்களுள் வேறு ஒருவனைத் துரத்து, நீ எளிதில் அவனை வென்று அவன் போர் அங்கிகளை எடுத்துவிடுவாய்” என்றான். ஆனால் ஆசகேல் அப்னேரைத் துரத்துவதை நிறுத்தவில்லை.
