தாவீது எருசலேமிலுள்ள தன்வீட்டுக்கு வந்தபோது, வீட்டைக் காக்க ராஜா பின்வைத்துப்போன பத்து மறுமனையாட்டிகளையும் வருவித்து, அவர்களை ஒரு காவல் வீட்டிலே வைத்து பராமரித்தான்; அப்புறம் அவர்களிடத்தில் அவன் பிரவேசிக்கவில்லை; அப்படியே அவர்கள் சாகிற நாள்மட்டும் அடைக்கப்பட்டு, உயிரோடிருக்கிற நாளெல்லாம் விதவைகள்போல் இருந்தார்கள்.

தாவீது எருசலேமிலுள்ள தன்னுடைய வீட்டிற்கு வந்தபோது, வீட்டைக்காக்க ராஜா வைத்துப்போன பத்து மறுமனையாட்டிகளையும் வரவழைத்து, அவர்களை ஒரு காவல் வீட்டிலே வைத்துப் பராமரித்தான்; அதன்பின்பு அவர்களிடம் அவன் உறவு வைத்துக்கொள்ளவில்லை; அப்படியே அவர்கள் மரணமடைகிற நாட்கள்வரை அடைக்கப்பட்டு, உயிரோடிருக்கிற நாட்களெல்லாம் விதவைகளைப்போல இருந்தார்கள்.

தாவீது எருசலேமிலுள்ள தன் வீட்டிற்குச் சென்றான். தாவீது தன் 10 மனைவியரை வீட்டைக் கவனித்துக்கொள்வதற்காக விட்டுச் சென்றிருந்தான். தாவீது அவர்களை ஒரு தனித்த வீட்டில் வைத்தான். அந்த வீட்டைச் சுற்றிலும் காவலாளரை நியமித்தான். அவர்கள் மரிக்கும்வரைக்கும் அந்த வீட்டில் தங்கியிருந்தார்கள். தாவீது அப்பெண்களைப் பராமரித்து அவர்களுக்கு உணவளித்தான். ஆனால் அவர்களோடு பாலின உறவுக்கொள்ளவில்லை. அவர்கள் மரிக்கும்வரைக்கும் விதவைகளைப்போல் வாழ்ந்தார்கள்.
