2 சாமுவேல் 21:10
அப்பொழுது ஆயாவின் குமாரத்தியாகிய ரிஸ்பாள் இரட்டுப்புடவையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அதைப் பாறையின்மேல் விரித்து, அறுப்புநாளின் துவக்கம் முதற்கொண்டு வானத்திலிருந்து அவர்கள்மேல் மழை பெய்யுமட்டும் பகலில் ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளாகிலும் இரவில் காட்டுமிருகங்களாகிலும் அவர்கள்மேல் விழவொட்டாதிருந்தாள்.

அப்பொழுது ஆயாவின் மகளான ரிஸ்பாள் சணல்நூல் துணியை எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அதைப் பாறையின்மேல் விரித்து, அறுப்புநாட்களின் ஆரம்பம் முதல் வானத்திலிருந்து அவர்கள்மேல் மழைபெய்யும்வரை பகலில் ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளோ இரவில் காட்டுமிருகங்களோ அந்த உடல்களைத் தொந்தரவு செய்யாதபடி பார்த்துவந்தாள்.

ஆயாவின் மகளான ரிஸ்பாள் துக்கத்திற்கு அறிகுறியான துணியை எடுத்து பாறை மீது வைத்தாள். அந்த ஆடை அறுவடை தொடங்கியக் காலத்திலிருந்து மழை வரும்வரை பாறை மீதே இருந்தது. ரிஸ்பாள் மரித்தவர்களின் உடலை இரவும் பகலும் காத்தாள். காட்டுப் பறவைகள் பகலிலும், காட்டு விலங்குகள் இரவிலும் உடலை நெருங்கி விடாத வண்ணம் கண்காணித்தாள்.
