சவுலின் குமாரன் யோனத்தானுக்கு இரண்டு காலும் முடமான ஒரு குமாரன் இருந்தான்; சவுலும் யோனத்தானும் மடிந்த செய்தி யெஸ்ரயேலிலிருந்து வருகிறபோது, அவன் ஐந்து வயதுள்ளவனாயிருந்தான்; அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய தாதி அவனை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு ஓடிப்போனாள்; அவன் ஓடிப்போகிற அவசரத்தில் அவன் விழந்து முடவனானான்; அவனுக்கு மேவிபோசேத் என்று பேர்.

சவுலின் மகன் யோனத்தானுக்கு இரண்டு கால்களும் முடமான ஒரு மகன் இருந்தான்; சவுலும் யோனத்தானும் இறந்த செய்தி யெஸ்ரயேலிலிருந்து வருகிறபோது, அவன் ஐந்து வயது உள்ளவனாக இருந்தான்; அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய செவிலியர் அவனை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு ஓடிப்போனாள்; அவள் ஓடிப்போகிற அவசரத்தில் அவன் விழுந்து முடவன் ஆனான்: அவனுக்கு மேவிபோசேத் என்று பெயர்.

சவுலின் மகனாகிய யோனத்தானுக்கு மேவிபோசேத் என்னும் பெயருள்ள மகன் இருந்தான். சவுலும் யோனத்தானும் கொல்லப்பட்டார்கள் என்ற செய்தி யெஸ்ரயேலிலிருந்து வந்தபோது மேவிபோசேத்திற்கு ஐந்து வயது ஆகியிருந்தது. பகைவர்கள் வருவார்கள் என எதிர்பார்த்ததால் மேவிபோசேத்தை வளர்த்த தாதி பெண் அச்சம் கொண்டாள். எனவே அவள் அவனைத் தூக்கிக்கொண்டு ஓடினாள். அவ்வாறு ஓடியபோது அவள் குழந்தையைத் தவறி போட்டுவிட்டாள். எனவே அவனது இரண்டு கால்களும் முடமாயின.
