அவர்கள் ஒரு வருஷகாலமாய்ச் சபையோடே கூடியிருந்து, அநேக ஜனங்களுக்கு உபதேசம்பண்ணினார்கள். முதல்முதல் அந்தியோகியாவிலே சீஷர்களுக்குக் கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் என்கிற பேர் வழங்கிற்று.

அவன் சவுலைப் பார்த்தபோது பர்னபா அவனை அந்தியோகியாவுக்கு அழைத்து வந்தான். ஓர் ஆண்டு முழுவதும் சவுலும் பர்னபாவும் அங்கே தங்கி இருந்தனர். விசுவாசிகளின் கூட்டம் ஒருங்கே கூடியபோதெல்லாம் சவுலும் பர்னபாவும் அவர்களைச் சந்தித்து மக்கள் பலருக்குப் போதித்தனர். அந்தியோகியாவில் இயேசுவின் சீஷர்கள் முதன்முதலாக “கிறிஸ்தவர்கள்” என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டனர்.
