கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ உன் பிதாக்களோடே படுத்துக்கொள்ளப்போகிறாய்; இந்த ஜனங்கள் எழும்பி, தாங்கள் போயிருக்கும் தேசத்திலுள்ள அந்நிய தேவர்களைச் சோரமார்க்கமாய்ப் பின்பற்றி, என்னைவிட்டு, தங்களுடனே நான் பண்ணின உடன்படிக்கையை மீறுவார்கள்.

கர்த்தர் மோசேயிடம், “நீ விரைவில் மரணமடைவாய். நீ உனது முற்பிதாக்களோடு போய்ச் சேர்ந்தபிறகு இந்த ஜனங்கள் என் மீதுள்ள நம்பிக்கையில் தொடரமாட்டார்கள். நான் அவர்களோடு செய்த உடன்படிக்கையை அவர்கள் முறிப்பார்கள். அவர்கள் என்னைவிட்டு விலகி வேறு தெய்வங்களைத் தொழுதுகொள்வார்கள். அவர்கள் போகிற நாட்டில் உள்ள பொய்த் தெய்வங்களை தொழுதுகொள்வார்கள்.
