யூதர்களை அழிக்கும்படி சூசானில் பிறந்த கட்டளையின் நகலையும் அவனிடத்தில் கொடுத்து, அதை எஸ்தருக்குக் காண்பித்துத் தெரியப்படுத்தவும், அவள் அகத்தியமாய் ராஜாவினிடத்திற் போய், அவனிடத்தில் தன் ஜனங்களுக்காக விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணவும் மன்றாடவும் வேண்டுமென்று அவளுக்குச் சொல்லச் சொன்னான்.

மொர்தெகாய் ஆத்தாகிடம் யூதர்களைக் கொல்வதற்குரிய அரசனது கட்டளைப் பிரதிகளையும் கொடுத்தான். அக்கட்டளை சூசான் தலைநகரம் முழுவதும் போயிருந்தது. அவன் ஆத்தாகிடம், அதனை எஸ்தருக்குக் காட்டி எல்லாவற்றையும் சொல்லும்படி கூறினான். எஸ்தர் அரசனிடம் சென்று, அரசனிடம் மொர்தெகாய்க்கும், அவளது ஜனங்களுக்கும் இரக்கம் காட்டிக் காக்குமாறு வேண்டிக்கொள்ளச் சொன்னான்.
