ஆசாரியன் அதைப் பார்த்து, அவ்விடம் மற்றத் தோலைப்பார்க்கிலும் குழிந்திருக்கவும், அதின் மயிர் வெள்ளையாக மாறியிருக்கவும் கண்டால், ஆசாரியன் அவனைத் தீட்டுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கவேண்டும்; அது புண்ணில் எழும்பின குஷ்டம்.

ஆசாரியன் அவற்றைச் சோதித்துப் பார்க்க வேண்டும். அப்புண்ணானது தோலின் பரப்பைவிட ஆழமாக இருந்தாலோ, அதிலுள்ள முடிகள் வெண்மையானாலோ அது தொழுநோய் என்றே கருதப்பட வேண்டும். உடனே அவனைத் தீட்டுள்ளவனாக அறிவிக்க வேண்டும். அது புண்ணில் ஏற்பட்ட தொழுநோயாகும். தொழுநோயானது அப்புண்ணின் உள்ளிருந்து உருவாகியுள்ளது.
