அப்பொழுது சிலர் அவர்மேல் துப்பவும், அவருடைய முகத்தை மூடவும், அவரைக் குட்டவும், ஞானதிருஷ்டியினாலே பார்த்துச் சொல் என்று சொல்லவும் தொடங்கினார்கள்; வேலைக்காரரும் அவரைக் கன்னத்தில் அறைந்தார்கள்.

சிலர் இயேசுவின் மீது காறித்துப்பினார்கள். அவரது கண்களை மூடினர், அவரைக் குட்டினர். “நீ தீர்க்கதரிசி என்பதை எங்களுக்கு நிரூபித்துக் காட்டு” என்று சொன்னார்கள். பிறகு காவற்காரர்கள் இயேசுவை வெளியே கொண்டுபோய் அடித்தனர்.
