சீரியர் முறிந்தோடுகிறதை அம்மோன் புத்திரர் கண்டபோது, அவர்களும் அவன் சகோதரனாகிய அபிசாயிக்கு முன்பாக முறிந்தோடிப் பட்டணத்திற்கு உட்பட்டார்கள்; யோவாப் திரும்ப எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தான்.

அம்மோனியரின் படை ஆராம் படை ஓடுவதைப் பார்த்து, தானும் ஓடியது. அது அபிசாயிடமும் அவனது படைகளிடமும் இருந்து ஓடியது. அம்மோனியர்கள் தம் நகரங்களுக்கும் யோவாப் எருசலேமிற்கும் திரும்பிச் சென்றனர்.
