தாவீது தன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து, பூமிக்கும் வானத்திற்கும் நடுவே நிற்கிற கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் உருவின பட்டயத்தைத் தன் கையில் பிடித்து, அதை எருசலேமின்மேல் நீட்டியிருக்கக் கண்டான்; அப்பொழுது தாவீதும் மூப்பர்களும் இரட்டுப் போர்த்துக்கொண்டு முகங்குப்புற விழுந்தார்கள்.

தாவீது தன்னுடைய கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து, பூமிக்கும் வானத்திற்கும் நடுவே நிற்கிற கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் உருவின பட்டயத்தைத் தன்னுடைய கையில் பிடித்து, அதை எருசலேமின்மேல் நீட்டியிருக்கக் கண்டான்; அப்பொழுது தாவீதும் மூப்பர்களும் சாக்கைப் போர்த்துக்கொண்டு முகங்குப்புற விழுந்தார்கள்.

கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் ஆகாயத்தில் நிற்பதைத் தாவீது கண்களை ஏறெடுத்துப் பார்த்தான். அத்தூதன் எருசலேம் நகரை நோக்கி தன் வாளை உருவிக்கொண்டு நின்றான். தாவீதும், மற்ற தலைவர்களும் தரையில் முகம்படும்படி குனிந்து வணங்கினார்கள். தாவீதும், தலைவர்களும் தங்கள் துக்கத்தை வெளிக்காட்ட சிறப்பான ஆடையை அணிந்திருந்தனர்.

தாவீது தம் கண்களை உயர்த்தியபோது, ஆண்டவரின் தூதர் மண்ணுலகுக்கும் விண்ணுலகுக்கும் நடுவே, தன் கையில் உருவிய வாள் பிடித்து, அதை எருசலேம்மீது நீட்டியிருக்கக் கண்டார். அப்போது தாவீதும் பெரியோர்களும் சாக்கு உடை உடுத்தி முகம் குப்புற விழுந்தனர்.
