அவர்களை வகுக்கிறபோது, இத்தாமாரின் புத்திரரைப்பார்க்கிலும் எலெயாசாரின் புத்திரருக்குள்ளே தலைமையானவர்கள் அதிகமானபேர் காணப்பட்டபடியினால், எலெயாசாரின் புத்திரரில் பதினாறுபேர் தங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய குடும்பத்துக்கும், இத்தாமாரின் புத்திரரில் எட்டுப்பேர் தங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய குடும்பத்துக்கும் தலைமையாக வைக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.

அவர்களைப் பிரிக்கிறபோது, இத்தாமாரின் சந்ததிகளைவிட எலெயாசாரின் சந்ததிகளுக்குள்ளே தலைவர்கள் அதிகமானபேர் இருந்ததால், எலெயாசாரின் மகன்களில் பதினாறுபேர் தங்களுடைய பிதாக்களுடைய குடும்பத்திற்கும், இத்தாமாரின் மகன்களில் எட்டுபேர் தங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய குடும்பத்திற்கும் தலைவர்களாக வைக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.

இத்தாமாரின் குடும்பத்தைவிட எலெயாசாரின் குடும்பத்தில் ஏராளமான தலைவர்கள் இருந்தனர். எலெயாசாரின் குடும்பத்தில் 16 தலைவர்களும் இத்தாமாரின் குடும்பத்தில் இருந்து 8 தலைவர்களும் இருந்தனர்.

இத்தாமரின் குடும்பத்தை விட எலயாசரின் குடும்பம் மிகுதியான தலைவர்களைக் கொண்டிருந்தது. எனவே, எலயாசரின் புதல்வரில் பதினாறு பேர் அவர்கள் மூதாதையரின் குடும்பத்துக்கும், இத்தாமரின் புதல்வரில் எட்டுப்பேர் அவர்கள் மூதாதையரின் குடும்பத்துக்கும் தலைவர்களாக நியமிக்கப்பட்டனர்.
