எப்படியெனில், சரீரம் ஒன்று, அதற்கு அவயவங்கள் அநேகம்; ஒரே சரீரத்தின் அவயவங்களெல்லாம் அநேகமாயிருந்தும், சரீரம் ஒன்றாகவேயிருக்கிறது; அந்தப்பிரகாரமாகக் கிறிஸ்துவும் இருக்கிறார்.

எப்படியென்றால், சரீரம் ஒன்று, அதற்கு உறுப்புகள் அநேகம்; ஒரே சரீரத்தின் உறுப்புகளெல்லாம் அநேகமாக இருந்தும், சரீரம் ஒன்றாகவே இருக்கிறது; அந்தப்பிரகாரமாகக் கிறிஸ்துவும் இருக்கிறார்.

ஒருவனின் சரீரம் முழுமையான ஒன்றாக இருந்தாலும், அதில் பல உறுப்புகள் உண்டு. ஆம், சரீரம் பல உறுப்புகளால் ஆனது. ஆனால், அத்தனை உறுப்புகளும் ஒரே சரீரத்துக்குரியவை. கிறிஸ்துவும் அதைப் போன்றவர்.
