அவைகளுக்கு வாயிருந்தும் பேசாது; அவைகளுக்குக் கண்களிருந்தும் காணாது.

ஏனெனில், அவர்கள்தாமே எங்களைக்குறித்து, உங்களிடத்தில் நாங்கள் அடைந்த பிரவேசம் இன்னதென்பதையும், ஜீவனுள்ள மெய்யான தேவனுக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்வதற்கு, நீங்கள் விக்கிரகங்களை விட்டு தேவனிடத்திற்கு மனந்திரும்பினதையும்,

சென்ற வாழ்நாட் காலத்திலே நாம் புறஜாதிகளுடைய இஷ்டத்தின்படி நடந்துகொண்டது போதும்; அப்பொழுது நாம் காமவிகாரத்தையும் துர்இச்சைகளையும் நடப்பித்து, மதுபானம்பண்ணி, களியாட்டுச்செய்து, வெறிகொண்டு, அருவருப்பான விக்கிரகாராதனையைச் செய்துவந்தோம்.

சித்திரக்காரனுக்கு அவன் செய்த சுரூபமும், ஊமையான தெய்வங்களை உண்டுபண்ணித் தான் உருவாக்கின சுரூபத்தை நம்பினவனுக்கு வார்க்கப்பட்டதும் பொய்ப்போதகம் பண்ணுகிறதுமான விக்கிரகமும் என்னத்துக்கு உதவும்?

உங்களில் சிலர் இப்படிப்பட்டவர்களாயிருந்தீர்கள்; ஆயினும் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவின் நாமத்தினாலும், நமது தேவனுடைய ஆவியினாலும் கழுவப்பட்டீர்கள், பரிசுத்தமாக்கப்பட்டீர்கள், நீதிமான்களாக்கப்பட்டீர்கள்.

ஆனபடியினால் முன்னே மாம்சத்தின்படி புறஜாதியாராயிருந்து, மாம்சத்தில் கையினாலே செய்யப்படுகிற விருத்தசேதனமுடையவர்களால் விருத்தசேதனமில்லாதவர்களென்னப்பட்ட நீங்கள்,

அவைகள் பனையைப்போல நெட்டையாய் நிற்கிறது, அவைகள் பேசமாட்டாதவைகள், அவைகள் நடக்கமாட்டாததினால் சுமக்கப்படவேண்டும்; அவைகளுக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டாம்; அவைகள் தீமைசெய்யக் கூடாது, நன்மைசெய்யவும் அவைகளுக்குச் சக்தி இல்லையென்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

அவைகளுக்குக் கைகளிருந்தும் தொடாது; அவைகளுக்குக் கால்களிருந்தும் நடவாது; தங்கள் தொண்டையால் சத்தமிடவும் மாட்டாது.

அவைகளுக்கு வாயிருந்தும் பேசாது, அவைகளுக்குக் கண்களிருந்தும் காணாது.

அதைத் தோளின்மேல் எடுத்து அதைச் சுமந்து, அதை அதின் ஸ்தானத்திலே வைக்கிறார்கள்; அங்கே அது நிற்கும்; தன் இடத்தைவிட்டு அசையாது; ஒருவன் அதை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டால், அது மறுஉத்தரவு கொடுக்கிறதுமில்லை, அவன் இக்கட்டை நீக்கி அவனை இரட்சிக்கிறதுமில்லை.

அவர்களை விட்டுவிடுங்கள், அவர்கள் குருடருக்கு வழிகாட்டுகிற குருடராயிருக்கிறார்கள்; குருடனுக்குக் குருடன் வழிகாட்டினால் இருவரும் குழியிலே விழுவார்களே என்றார்.
