நாங்களோ உலகத்தின் ஆவியைப்பெறாமல், தேவனால் எங்களுக்கு அருளப்பட்டவைகளை அறியும்படிக்கு தேவனிலிருந்து புறப்படுகிற ஆவியையே பெற்றோம்.

நாம் உலகின் ஆவியைக்கொண்டிருக்கவில்லை. நாம் தேவனிடமிருந்து அவரது ஆவியானவரைப் பெற்றோம். தேவன் நமக்குக் கொடுத்துள்ள பொருள்களை அறியுமாறு நாம் ஆவியானவரைப் பெற்றோம்.

ஆனால், நாம் இவ்வுலக மனப்பாங்கைப் பெற்றுக் கொள்ளவில்லை. மாறாக, தூய ஆவியைக் கடவுளிடமிருந்து பெற்றுள்ளோம். இவ்வாறு கடவுள் நமக்கு அருளிய கொடைகளைக் கண்டுணர்ந்து கொள்கிறோம்.⒫
