அதென்னவெனில் இப்பொழுது உண்டாயிருக்கிற துன்பத்தினிமித்தம் விவாகமில்லாமலிருக்கிறது மனுஷனுக்கு நலமாயிருக்குமென்று எண்ணுகிறேன்.

அது என்னவென்றால், இப்பொழுது உண்டாயிருக்கிற துன்பத்தினிமித்தம் திருமணம் இல்லாமலிருக்கிறது மனிதனுக்கு நலமாக இருக்குமென்று நினைக்கிறேன்.

திருவிவிலியம்
மணமாகாதோர் தாம் அழைக்கப்பட்ட நிலையிலேயே இருந்துவிடுவது நல்லது. இப்போதுள்ள இடர் நிலையை முன்னிட்டு இவ்வாறு இருப்பதே நல்லதென எண்ணுகிறேன்.⒫

I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, I say, that it is good for a man so to be.
