போஜனமானது நம்மை தேவனுக்கு உகந்தவர்களாக்கமாட்டாது; என்னத்தினாலெனில், புசிப்பதினால் நமக்கு ஒருமேன்மையுமில்லை, புசியாதிருப்பதினால் நமக்கு ஒரு குறைவுமில்லை.

ஆனால், இறைச்சியுண்பது தேவனுக்கு நெருக்கமாக நம்மை அழைத்துச் செல்லாது. இறைச்சியுண்ணாமையும் தேவனுக்குக் குறைவான மகிழ்ச்சியைத் தருபவர்களாக நம்மை ஆக்காது.

நாம் உண்ணும் உணவு நம்மைக் கடவுளிடம் கொண்டு சேர்க்காது. உண்ணாதிருப்பின் அதனால் ஒரு குறையுமில்லை. உண்போமாயின் அதனால் ஒரு நிறைவுமில்லை.⒫
