அவர்கள் நம்மைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்து போனார்கள், ஆகிலும் அவர்கள் நம்முடையவர்களாயிருக்கவில்லை; நம்முடையவர்களாயிருந்தார்களானால் நம்முடனே நிலைத்திருப்பார்களே; எல்லாரும் நம்முடையவர்களல்லவென்று வெளியாகும்படிக்கே பிரிந்துபோனார்கள்.

அவர்கள் நம்மைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்துபோனார்கள், ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் நம்முடையவர்களாக இருக்கவில்லை; நம்முடையவர்களாக இருந்தார்களானால் நம்முடனே நிலைத்திருப்பார்களே; எல்லோரும் நம்முடையவர்கள் இல்லை என்று வெளிப்படுத்துவதற்காகவே பிரிந்துபோனார்கள்.

நமது குழுவிலேயே கிறிஸ்துவின் பகைவர்கள் இருந்தனர். ஆனால் அவர்கள் நம்மை விட்டுச் சென்றுவிட்டனர். அவர்கள் நம்மோடு சேர்ந்தவர்களாக வாழவில்லை. உண்மையிலேயே நம் குழுவில் உள்ளவர்களாக அவர்கள் இருந்திருந்தால், அவர்கள் நம்மோடு தங்கியிருப்பார்கள். ஆனால் அவர்கள் நம்மைப் பிரிந்தனர். அவர்களில் ஒருவர் கூட நம்மோடு உண்மையாகச் சேர்ந்திருந்ததில்லை என்பதை இது காட்டுகிறது.
