இதோ, அதோனியா ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோனுக்குப் பயப்படுகிறான் என்றும், இதோ, அவன் பலிபீடத்தின் கொம்புகளைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு, ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் தமது அடியானைப் பட்டயத்தாலே கொன்றுபோடுவதில்லை என்று இன்று எனக்கு ஆணையிடுவாராக என்கிறான் என்றும், சாலொமோனுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.

சிலர் சாலொமோனிடம் போய், “அதோனியா உங்களைக் கண்டு அஞ்சுகிறான். அவன் பரிசுத்த கூடாரத்தில் பலி பீடத்தின் கொம்புகளைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு நிற்கிறான். அவன், ‘என்னை கொல்லமாட்டேன் என சாலொமோனை வாக்குறுதி தரச்சொல்லுங்கள்’ என்கிறான்” என்றார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது சாலமோனுக்கு இவ்வாறு தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது; “அதோனியா, சாலமோன் அரசருக்கு அஞ்சிப் பலி பீடத்தின் கொம்புகளைப் பற்றிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறான். மேலும் அவன், அரசர் சாலமோன், ‘என் அடியானாகிய உன்னை வாளால் கொல்லமாட்டேன்’ என்று இன்றே ஆணையிட்டுக் கூறட்டும் என்று வேண்டுகிறான்.”
