கர்த்தர் அகியாவினிடத்தில்: இதோ, யெரொபெயாமின் மனைவி வியாதியாயிருக்கிற தன் குமாரனுக்காக உன்னை ஒரு விசேஷம்கேட்க வருகிறாள்; நீ அவளுக்கு இன்ன இன்ன பிரகாரமாகச் சொல்லவேண்டும்; அவள் உட்பிரவேசிக்கிறபோது, தன்னை அந்நிய ஸ்திரீயாகக் காண்பிப்பாள் என்றார்.

கர்த்தர் அகியாவினிடம்: இதோ, யெரொபெயாமின் மனைவி வியாதியாக இருக்கிற தன்னுடைய மகனுக்காக உன்னிடம் ஒரு ஆலோசனை கேட்க வருகிறாள்; நீ அவளுக்கு இன்ன இன்னபடியாகச் சொல்லவேண்டும்; அவள் உள்ளே நுழைகிறபோது, தன்னை வேறு பெண்ணாகக் காட்டுவாள் என்றார்.

ஆனால் கர்த்தர் அவனிடம், “யெரொபெயாமின் மனைவி தன் மகனைப்பற்றி உன்னிடம் கேட்கவருகிறாள். ஏனென்றால் அவன் நோய்வாய்ப்பட்டிருக்கிறான்” என்றார். அவன் என்ன சொல்லவேண்டும் என்பதையும் கர்த்தர் அவனுக்கு சொல்லியிருந்தார். அரசனின் மனைவி அகியாவின் வீட்டிற்கு வந்தாள். தன்னை யாரென்று ஜனங்கள் அறிந்துக்கொள்ளாதபடி நடந்துக்கொண்டாள்.

ஆண்டவர் அகியாவிடம், “இதோ! எரொபவாமின் மனைவி நோயுற்றிருக்கிற தன் மகனைப் பற்றி உன்னிடம் கேட்க வருகிறாள். நான் கூறும் வண்ணம் நீ அவளிடம் பேச வேண்டும். அவள் மாறுவேடத்தில் வருகிறாள்” என்றார்.⒫
