எனக்கும் உமக்கும் என் தகப்பனுக்கும் உம்முடைய தகப்பனுக்கும் உடன்படிக்கை உண்டே; இதோ, உமக்கு வெகுமதியாய் வெள்ளியையும் பொன்னையும் அனுப்புகிறேன்; இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய பாஷா என்னைவிட்டு விலகிப் போகும்படிக்கு, நீர் வந்து அவனோடு செய்த உடன்படிக்கையைத் தள்ளிப்போடும் என்று சொல்லச் சொன்னான்.

ஆசா அவனுக்கு, “என் தந்தையும் உங்கள் தந்தையும் சமாதான ஒப்பந்தம் செய்துகொண்டனர். நான் இப்போது உங்களோடு ஒரு சமாதான ஒப்பந்தம் செய்துக்கொள்ள விரும்புகிறேன். இப்பொன்னையும் வெள்ளியையும் உமக்கு அன்பளிப்பாக அனுப்புகிறேன். நீங்கள் இஸ்ரவேலின் அரசனான பாஷாவிடம் கொண்டுள்ள ஒப்பந்தத்தை ரத்து செய்யுங்கள். அப்போதுதான் அவன் எங்கள் நாட்டை விட்டு விலகுவான்” என்று தூது அனுப்பினான்.
