கர்த்தர் தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய யெகூவினால் பாஷாவைக்குறித்துச் சொல்லியிருந்த அவருடைய வார்த்தையின்படியே, சிம்ரி பாஷாவின் வீட்டாரையெல்லாம் அழித்துப்போட்டான்.

இது, பாஷாவும் அவனது மகன் ஏலாவும் செய்த பாவத்தால் ஆயிற்று. அவர்கள் தாம் பாவம் செய்ததோடு இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களும் பாவம் செய்ய காரணமானார்கள். அவர்கள் பல விக்கிரகங்களைச் செய்து தொழுதுகொண்டதால் கர்த்தரால் கோபம்கொள்ளக் காரணமானார்கள்.
