நேபாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாமின் சகல வழியிலும், இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குத் தங்கள் வீணான விக்கிரகங்களாலே கோபம் மூட்டும்படியாய் இஸ்ரவேலைப் பாவஞ்செய்யப்பண்ணின அவனுடைய பாவங்களிலும் நடந்தான்.

நேபாத்தின் மகனாகிய யெரொபெயாமின் எல்லா வழியிலும், இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குத் தங்களுடைய வீணான விக்கிரகங்களாலே கோபம் ஏற்படுத்தும்படியாக இஸ்ரவேலைப் பாவம்செய்யச்செய்த அவனுடைய பாவங்களிலும் நடந்தான்.

நேபாத்தின் மகனான யெரொபெயாம் செய்த பாவங்களையெல்லாம் இவனும் செய்தான். யெரொபெயாம் தானும் பாவம் செய்து, ஜனங்களையும் பாவம்செய்யத் தூண்டி இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய கோபத்துக்கு ஆளானான். பயனற்ற விக்கிரகங்களையும் தொழுதுகொண்டான்.
