அநேகநாள் சென்று, மூன்றாம் வருஷமாகையில், கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை எலியாவுக்கு உண்டாகி: நீ போய் ஆகாபுக்கு உன்னைக் காண்பி; நான் தேசத்தின்மேல் மழையைக் கட்டளையிடுவேன் என்றார்.

அநேகநாட்கள் சென்று, மூன்றாம் வருடமாகும்போது, கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை எலியாவுக்கு உண்டாகி: நீ போய் ஆகாபுக்கு உன்னைக் காண்பி; நான் தேசத்தின்மேல் மழையைக் கட்டளையிடுவேன் என்றார்.

மூன்று ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பிறகும், மழை பெய்யவில்லை. கர்த்தர் எலியாவிடம், “போய் ஆகாப் அரசனைப் பார். நான் மழையை அனுப்புவேன்” என்றார்.

பல நாள்களுக்குப் பிறகு, பஞ்சத்தின் மூன்றாம் ஆண்டில். ஆண்டவர் எலியாவிடம், “ஆகாபு உன்னைக் காணுமாறு போய் நில். நான் நாட்டில் மழை பெய்யச் செய்வேன்” என்று கூறினார்.
