அங்கே அவன் ஒரு கெபிக்குள் போய்த் தங்கினான்; இதோ, கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை அவனுக்கு உண்டாகி, அவர்: எலியாவே, இங்கே உனக்கு என்ன காரியம் என்றார்.

அங்கு ஒரு குகையில் இரவில் தங்கினான். அப்போது கர்த்தர், “இங்கே ஏன் இருக்கிறாய்?” என்று எலியாவிடம் பேசினார்.

அவர் அங்கிருந்த குகைக்கு வந்து, அதில் இரவைக் கழித்தார். அப்போது ஆண்டவரது வாக்கு அவருக்கு வந்தது. அவர் “எலியா! நீ இங்கே என்ன செய்கிறாய்?” என்று வினவினார்.
