இணை வசனம்

ஆனாலும் தாவீது சீயோன் கோட்டையைப் பிடித்தான்; அது தாவீதின் நகரமாயிற்று.

சாலொமோன் எகிப்தின் ராஜாவாகிய பார்வோனோடே சம்பந்தங்கலந்து, பார்வோனின் குமாரத்தியை விவாகம்பண்ணி, தன்னுடைய அரமனையையும் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தையும் எருசலேமின் சுற்றுமதிலையும் கட்டித் தீருமட்டும் அவன் அவளைத் தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் கொண்டுவந்து வைத்தான்.

அறிவியாமற்போனால் ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவன் தம்முடைய பிதாக்களோடே படுத்துக்கொண்டபின்பு, நானும் என் குமாரனாகிய சாலொமோனும் குற்றவாளிகளாய் எண்ணப்படுவோம் என்றாள்.

சகோதரரே, கோத்திரத் தலைவனாகிய தாவீதைக்குறித்து நான் உங்களுடனே தைரியமாய்ப் பேசுகிறதற்கு இடங்கொடுங்கள்; அவன் மரணமடைந்து அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டான்; அவனுடைய கல்லறை இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் நம்மிடத்திலிருக்கிறது.

தாவீது தன் காலத்திலே தேவனுடைய சித்தத்தின்படி அவருக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்தபின்பு நித்திரையடைந்து, தன்பிதாக்களிடத்திலே சேர்க்கப்பட்டு, அழிவைக் கண்டான்.

சாலொமோன் தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்து, தன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டான்; அவன் குமாரனாகிய ரெகொபெயாம் அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.

தாவீது அந்தக் கோட்டையில் வாசம்பண்ணினபடியினால், அது தாவீதின் நகரம் என்னப்பட்டது.

அவன் தீர்க்காயுசும் ஐசுவரியமும் மகிமையுமுள்ளவனாய் நல்ல முதிர்வயதிலே மரணமடைந்தபின், அவன் குமாரனாகிய சாலொமோன் அவன் ஸ்தானத்திலே அரசாண்டான்.
