அவனுக்குப் பதிலாக ராஜா யோய்தாவின் குமாரன் பெனாயாவை இராணுவத்தின்மேலும், ஆசாரியனாகிய சாதோக்கை அபியத்தாரின் ஸ்தானத்திலும் வைத்தான்.

பிறகு யோவாபின் இடத்தில் யோய்தாவின் மகனான பெனாயாவைத் தனது படைத்தளபதியாக அரசன் நியமித்தான். அபியத்தாரின் இடத்தில் சாதோக்கை சாலொமோன் தலைமை ஆசாரியனாக நியமித்தான்.

அப்பொழுது அரசர் யோவாபுக்குப் பதிலாக யோயாதாவின் மகன் பெனாயாவைப் படைத்தலைவனாக நியமனம் செய்தார். மேலும், அபியத்தாருக்குப் பதிலாகச் சாதோக்கைக் குருவாக நியமித்தார்.
