ஒருவன் நினையாமல் வில்லை நாணேற்றி எய்தான்; அது இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவினுடைய கவசத்தின் சந்துகளுக்குள் பட்டது; அப்பொழுது அவன் தன் சாரதியைப் பார்த்து: நீ திருப்பி என்னை இராணுவத்துக்கப்பால் கொண்டுபோ; எனக்குக் காயம்பட்டது என்றான்.

ஒருவன் தெரியாமல் வில்லை நாணேற்றி எய்தான்; அது இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவினுடைய கவசத்தின் சந்துகளுக்குள் பட்டது; அப்பொழுது அவன் தன்னுடைய ரத ஓட்டியைப் பார்த்து; நீ திருப்பி என்னை இராணுவத்திற்கு மறுபுறம் கொண்டுபோ; எனக்குக் காயம்பட்டது என்றான்.

ஆனால் ஒருவன் குறிவைக்காமல் ஒரு அம்பை எய்தான். எனினும். அது ஆகாப் மீதுபட்டு கவசம் மூடாத உடலில் நுழைந்தது. அவன் இரத ஓட்டியிடம், “ஒரு அம்பு என்னைத் தாக்கியுள்ளது! இரதத்தை களத்தைவிட்டு வெளியே கொண்டு செல்” என்றான்.

ஆயினும், ஒருவன் வில்லை நாணேற்றிச் சரியாய்க் குறிவைக்காது அம்பை எய்தான். அது இஸ்ரயேல் அரசனது கவசத்தின் இடைவெளியே பாய்ந்தது. எனவே, அவன் தன் தேரோட்டியை நோக்கி, “தேரைத் திருப்பிப் போர் முனையினின்று வெளியே என்னைக் கொண்டு போ; ஏனெனில், நான் காயமுற்றிருக்கிறேன்” என்றான்.
