அந்தப்படி, இளைஞரே, மூப்பருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியுங்கள். நீங்களெல்லாரும் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் கீழ்ப்படிந்து, மனத்தாழ்மையை அணிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்; பெருமையுள்ளவர்களுக்குத் தேவன் எதிர்த்து நிற்கிறார், தாழ்மையுள்ளவர்களுக்கோ கிருபை அளிக்கிறார்.

அப்படியே, இளைஞர்களே, மூப்பர்களுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியுங்கள். நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் கீழ்ப்படிந்து, மனத்தாழ்மையை அணிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்; பெருமை உள்ளவர்களுக்கு தேவன் எதிர்த்து நிற்கிறார், தாழ்மை உள்ளவர்களுக்கோ கிருபை அளிக்கிறார்.

இளைஞர்களே, நான் உங்களுக்கும் சிலவற்றைச் சொல்லவேண்டும். முதியோரின் அதிகாரத்திற்கு நீங்கள் கட்டுப்பட வேண்டும். ஒருவருக்கொருவர் தாழ்மையோடு சேவை புரிந்துகொள்ள வேண்டும். “அகம்பாவம்மிக்க மனிதருக்கு தேவன் எதிரானவர். ஆனால் தாழ்மையுள்ள மனிதருக்கு தேவன் கிருபை அளிக்கிறார்.”

இளைஞர்களே, நீங்கள் முதியவர்களுக்குப் பணிந்திருங்கள். ஒருவர் மற்றவரோடு பழகும்போது எல்லாரும் மனத்தாழ்மையை ஆடையாய் அணிந்திருங்கள். ஏனெனில்,⁽ “செருக்குற்றோரைக் கடவுள்␢ இகழ்ச்சியுடன் நோக்குவார்;␢ தாழ்நிலையில் உள்ளவர்களுக்கோ␢ கருணை காட்டுவார்.”⁾

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Likewise, ye younger, be subject unto the elder. Yea, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to serve one another: for God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.
