அவள் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்குப் போகும் சமயத்தில், அவன் வருஷந்தோறும் அந்தப்பிரகாரமாய்ச் செய்வான்; இவள் அவளை மனமடிவாக்குவாள்; அப்பொழுது அவள் சாப்பிடாமல் அழுதுகொண்டிருப்பாள்.

அவள் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்குப் போகும்போது, அவன் ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் அப்படியே செய்வான்; இவள் அன்னாளை மனவேதனைப்படுத்துவாள்; அப்பொழுது அவள் சாப்பிடாமல் அழுதுகொண்டிருப்பாள்.

இது ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் நிகழ்ந்து வந்தது. ஒவ்வொரு முறையும் அவர்களின் குடும்பம் சீலோவிலுள்ள கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்கு போகும் போதும், பெனின்னாள் அன்னாளை வேதனைப்படுத்துவாள். ஒரு நாள் எல்க்கானா பலிகளைச் செலுத்திக்கொண்டிருந்தான். அன்னாள் துக்கம் மீறி அழ ஆரம்பித்தாள். அவள் அன்று எதையும் உண்ணவில்லை.
