கர்த்தர் சொன்னபடியே சாமுவேல் செய்து, பெத்லெகேமுக்குப் போனான்; அப்பொழுது அவ்வூரின் மூப்பர் தத்தளிப்போடே அவனுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுவந்து, நீர் வருகிறது சமாதானமா என்றார்கள்.

சாமுவேல் கர்த்தர் சொன்னபடி செய்தான். சாமுவேல் பெத்லேகேம் சென்றதும் அங்குள்ள மூப்பர்கள் நடுங்கினார்கள். அவர்கள் சாமுவேலை சந்தித்து, “சமாதானத்தோடு வந்துள்ளீரா?” என்று கேட்டனர்.

ஆண்டவர் கட்டளையிட்டவாறு சாமுவேல் செய்த பின் பெத்லகேமுக்குச் சென்றார். அப்பொழுது அவ்வூரின் பெரியோர்கள் அஞ்சி நடுங்கி அவரை எதிர் கொண்டு வந்து, “உங்கள் வருகையின் நோக்கம் சமாதானம் தானே” என்று கேட்டனர்.
