ஆகீசின் ஊழியக்காரர் அவனைப் பார்த்து: தேசத்து ராஜாவாகிய தாவீது இவன் அல்லவோ? சவுல் கொன்றது ஆயிரம், தாவீது கொன்றது பதினாயிரம் என்று இவனைக்குறித்தல்லவோ ஆடல் பாடலோடே கொண்டாடினார்கள்.

ஆகீசின் ஊழியக்காரர்கள் அவனைப் பார்த்து: தேசத்து ராஜாவாகிய தாவீது இவன் அல்லவோ? சவுல் கொன்றது ஆயிரம், தாவீது கொன்றது பத்தாயிரம் என்று இவனைக் குறித்தல்லவோ ஆடல் பாடலோடே கொண்டாடினார்கள் என்றார்கள்.

ஆகீஸின் வேலைக்காரர் அவனிடம் சொன்னார்கள், “இவன் இஸ்ரவேல் நாட்டின் அரசனான தாவீது, இஸ்ரவேலரால் போற்றப்படுபவன். அவர்கள் ஆடிக்கொண்டே, “‘சவுல் ஆயிரம் வீரர்களைக் கொன்றிருக்கிறான். ஆனால் தாவீதோ பதினாயிரம் வீரர்களைக் கொன்றிருக்கிறான்!’” என்று பாடுகின்றனர்.

ஆக்கிசின் அலுவலர்கள் அவரிடம், “இவன் இஸ்ரயேல் நாட்டு அரசன் தாவீது அன்றோ? ‘சவுல் ஆயிரம் பேரைக் கொன்றான். தாவீதோ பதினாயிரம் பேரைக் கொன்றான்’ என்று பெண்கள் நடனமாடித் தங்களுக்குள் பாடிக் கொள்ளவில்லையா?” என்றனர்.
