இணை வசனம்

பிள்ளைகளுக்காகப் பிதாக்களும், பிதாக்களுக்காகப் பிள்ளைகளும் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டாம்; அவனவன் செய்த பாவத்தினிமித்தம் அவனவன் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டும்.

அப்பொழுது சவுல்: யோனத்தானே, நீ சாகத்தான்வேண்டும்; இல்லாவிட்டால் தேவன் எனக்கு அதற்குச் சரியாகவும் அதற்கு அதிகமாகவும் செய்யக்கடவர் என்றான்.

ஈசாயின் மகன் பூமியின்மேல் உயிரோடிருக்கும் நாள்வரையும் நீயானாலும் உன் ராஜ்யபாரமானாலும் நிலைப்படுவதில்லை; இப்போதே அவனை அழைப்பித்து, என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவா; அவன் சாகவேண்டும் என்றான்.

யேசபேல் கர்த்தரின் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளைச் சங்கரிக்கிறபோது, ஒபதியா நூறு தீர்க்கதரிசிகளைச் சேர்த்து, அவர்களைக் கெபிக்கு ஐம்பது ஐம்பது பேராக ஒளித்துவைத்து, அவர்களுக்கு அப்பமும் தண்ணீரும் கொடுத்து, அவர்களைப் பராமரித்துவந்தான்.

அப்பொழுது யேசபேல் எலியாவினிடத்தில் ஆள் அனுப்பி: அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொருவனுடைய பிராணனுக்குச் செய்யப்பட்டதுபோல, நான் நாளை இந்நேரத்தில் உன் பிராணனுக்கு செய்யாதேபோனால், தேவர்கள் அதற்குச் சரியாகவும் அதற்கு அதிகமாகவும் எனக்குச் செய்யக்கடவர்கள் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னாள்.

ஆனாலும் மொர்தெகாயின்மேல் மாத்திரம் கைபோடுவது அவனுக்கு அற்பக் காரியமாகக் கண்டது; மொர்தெகாயின் ஜனங்கள் இன்னாரென்று ஆமானுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தபடியால் அகாஸ்வேருவின் ராஜ்யமெங்கும் இருக்கிற மொர்தெகாயின் ஜனமாகிய யூதரையெல்லாம் சங்கரிக்க அவன் வகைதேடினான்.

ஏழை ஜனங்களை ஆளும் துஷ்ட அதிகாரி கெர்ச்சிக்கும் சிங்கத்துக்கும் அலைந்துதிரிகிற கரடிக்கும் ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறான்.

ராஜா கல்தேயருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என்னிடத்திலிருந்து பிறக்கிற தீர்மானம் என்னவென்றால், நீங்கள் சொப்பனத்தையும் அதின் அர்த்தத்தையும் எனக்கு அறிவியாமற்போனால் துண்டித்துப்போடப்படுவீர்கள்; உங்கள் வீடுகள் எருக்களங்களாக்கப்படும்.

இதினிமித்தம் ராஜா மகா கோபமும் உக்கிரமுங்கொண்டு, பாபிலோனில் இருக்கிற எல்லா ஞானிகளையும் கொலைசெய்யும்படி கட்டளையிட்டான்.

அப்பொழுது நேபுகாத்நேச்சாருக்குக் கடுங்கோபமூண்டு: சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாய் அவனுடைய முகம் வேறுபட்டது; சூளையைச் சாதாணரமாய்ச் சூடாக்குவதைப்பார்க்கிலும் ஏழுமடங்கு அதிகமாய்ச் சூடாக்கும்படி உத்தரவுகொடுத்து,

அப்பொழுது ஏரோது தான் சாஸ்திரிகளால் வஞ்சிக்கப்பட்டதைக் கண்டு, மிகுந்த கோபமடைந்து, ஆட்களை அனுப்பி, தான் சாஸ்திரிகளிடத்தில் திட்டமாய் விசாரித்த காலத்தின்படியே, பெத்லகேமிலும் அதின் சகல எல்லைகளிலுமிருந்த இரண்டு வயதுக்குட்பட்ட எல்லா ஆண்பிள்ளைகளையும் கொலைசெய்தான்.

ஏரோது அவனைத் தேடிக் காணாமற்போனபோது, காவற்காரரை விசாரணைசெயύது, அவர்களைக் கொலைசெய்யும்ʠΟி கட்டளையிட்டு, பின்பு யூதேயா தேசத்தைவிட்டுச் செசரியா பட்டணத்துக்குப்போய், அங்கே வாசம்பண்ணினான்.
