அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் எழுந்து, சவுலுக்கு முன்னாலே சீப் ஊருக்குப் போனார்கள்; தாவீதும் அவன் மனுஷரும் எஷிமோனுக்குத் தெற்கான அந்தர வெளியாகிய மாகோன் வனாந்தரத்தில் இருந்தார்கள்.

பின்னர் சீப்பிலுள்ள ஜனங்கள் திரும்பிப் போனார்கள். சவுல் தாமதமாகப் போனான். தாவீதும் அவனது ஆட்களும் மாகோன் பாலைவனத்தில் இருந்தனர். அவர்கள் இருந்த பகுதி எஷிமோனின் தென் பகுதியில் இருந்தது.

அவர்கள் சவுலுக்கு முன்னரே சீபுக்குப் புறப்பட்டுச் சென்றனர். பின்பு, தாவீதும் அவர்தம் ஆள்களும் எசிமோனுக்குத் தெற்கே, அராபாவிலுள்ள மாவோன் பாலைநிலத்தில் இருந்தனர்.
