ஆனாலும் தாவீதின் மனுஷர் அவனை நோக்கி: இதோ, நாங்கள் இங்கே யூதாவிலே இருக்கும்போதே பயப்படுகிறோம்; நாங்கள் பெலிஸ்தருடைய சேனைகளை எதிர்க்கிறதற்கு கேகிலாவுக்குப் போனால், எவ்வளவு அதிகம் என்றார்கள்.

ஆனால், தாவீதின் வீரர்கள் அவரை நோக்கி, “நாம் யூதாவில் இருக்கும் போதே இப்படி அஞ்சுகிறோம். பெலிஸ்தியர் படைகளுக்கு எதிராக நாம் கெயிலாவுக்கு சென்றால் இன்னும் எவ்வளவு அஞ்வோம்?” என்றனர்.
