அப்பொழுது தாவீது சவுலுக்கு ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்தான்; பின்பு, சவுல் தன் வீட்டுக்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போனான்; தாவீதும் அவன் மனுஷரும் அரணிப்பான இடத்திற்கு ஏறிப்போனார்கள்.

எனவே தாவீதும் தான் சவுலின் குடும்பத்தாரைக் கொல்லமாட்டேன் என்று சவுலிடம் சத்தியம் செய்தான். சவுல் தன் வீட்டிற்குத் திரும்பினான். தாவீதும் அவனது ஆட்களும் கோட்டைக்குப் போனார்கள்.
