தாவீது சவுலின் தலைமாட்டில் இருந்த ஈட்டியையும், தண்ணீர்ச் செம்பையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டபின்பு, புறப்பட்டுபோனார்கள்; அதை ஒருவரும் காணவில்லை, அறியவுமில்லை, ஒருவரும் விழித்துக்கொள்ளவுமில்லை; கர்த்தர் அவர்களுக்கு அயர்ந்த நித்திரை வருவித்ததினால், அவர்களெல்லாரும் தூங்கினார்கள்.

சவுலின் தலைமாட்டில் இருந்த ஈட்டியையும் தண்ணீர்ச் செம்பையும் எடுத்துக் கொண்டு தாவீது கிளம்பினான். பிறகு தாவீதும், அபிசாயும் முகாமை விட்டு வெளியேறினார்கள். நடந்தது என்னதென்று யாருக்கும் தெரியவில்லை! யாரும் இதைப் பார்க்கவுமில்லை, எழும்பவுமில்லை. கர்த்தரால் சவுலும் மற்ற வீரர்களும் நன்றாக தூங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தனர்.

அவ்வாறே, தாவீது சவுலின் தலைமாட்டில் இருந்த ஈட்டியையும் தண்ணீர்க் குவளையையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டபின் அவர்கள் புறப்பட்டுச் சென்றனர். அவர்களில் ஒருவரும் விழிக்கவில்லை; அதைக் காணவுமில்லை; அறியவுமில்லை; ஆண்டவர் அவருக்கு ஆழ்ந்த உறக்கத்தை அளித்திருந்தபடியால் அவர்கள் எல்லாரும் தூங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தனர்.
