அப்பொழுது தாவீதோடே நடந்து வந்த மனுஷரில் பொல்லாதவர்களும் பேலியாளின் மக்களுமான எல்லாரும்: அவர்கள் எங்களோடே வராதபடியினால் நாங்கள் திருப்பிக்கொண்ட கொள்ளையுடைமைகளில் அவர்களுக்கு ஒன்றும் கொடுப்பதில்லை; அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொருவனும் தன் தன் மனைவியையும் தன் தன் பிள்ளைகளையுமே அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போகட்டும் என்றார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது தாவீதோடு நடந்து வந்த மனிதர்களில் துன்மார்க்கர்களும், பயனற்ற மக்களுமான எல்லோரும்: அவர்கள் எங்களோடே வராதபடியால் நாங்கள் திருப்பிக்கொண்ட கொள்ளையுடமைகளில் அவர்களுக்கு ஒன்றும் கொடுப்பதில்லை; அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொருவனும் தன்தன் மனைவியையும் தன்தன் பிள்ளைகளையுமே அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போகட்டும் என்றார்கள்.

தாவீதைப் பின்தொடந்தவர்களில் சிலர் கெட்டவர்களாகவும், குழப்பம் செய்வபவர்களாகவும் இருந்தனர். அவர்கள், “இந்த 200 பேரும் எங்களோடு வரவில்லை. எனவே நாங்கள் கைப்பற்றியவற்றில் இவர்களுக்குப் பங்கு கொடுக்கமாட்டோம். இவர்களுக்கு இவர்களது மனைவி ஜனங்கள் மட்டுமே உரியவராவார்கள்” என்றனர்.

ஆனால், தாவீதோடு சென்றவர்களில் இருந்த தீயவர் மற்றும் கயவர் எல்லாரும், “அவர்கள் நம்முடன் வராததால் நாம் மீட்டுக் கொண்டு வந்த கொள்ளைப் பொருள்களில் ஒன்றும் அளிக்க மாட்டோம்; அவர்களுள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் தம் மனைவியையும் பிள்ளைகளையும் மட்டும் அழைத்துச் செல்லட்டும்” என்றனர்.⒫
