அதினால் அவர்கள் தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை எக்ரோனுக்கு அனுப்பினார்கள்; தேவனுடைய பெட்டி எக்ரோனுக்கு வருகிறபோது, எக்ரோன் ஊரார்: எங்களையும் எங்கள் ஜனங்களையும் கொன்றுபோட, இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை எடுத்து, எங்களண்டைக்குச் சுற்றிக்கொண்டு வந்தார்கள் என்று கூக்குரலிட்டார்கள்.

அதினால் அவர்கள் தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை எக்ரோனுக்கு அனுப்பினார்கள்; தேவனுடைய பெட்டி எக்ரோனுக்கு வருகிறபோது, எக்ரோன் ஊர்க்காரர்கள்: எங்களையும் எங்கள் மக்களையும் கொன்றுபோட, இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை எடுத்து, எங்கள் அருகில் சுற்றிக்கொண்டு வந்தார்கள் என்று கூக்குரலிட்டார்கள்.

எனவே, பெலிஸ்தியர் தேவனுடைய பரிசுத்தப் பெட்டியை எக்ரோனுக்கு அனுப்பினர். ஆனால் அங்குள்ள ஜனங்கள் தேனுடைய பரிசுத்தப் பெட்டியைக் கண்டதும், முறையிட்டார்கள். “எங்களது எக்ரோன் நகரத்திற்கு இஸ்ரவேலருடைய தேவனின் பரிசுத்தப் பெட்டியை ஏன் கொண்டு வந்தீர்கள்? நீங்கள் எங்களையும் எங்கள் ஜனங்களையும் கொல்ல விரும்புகிறீர்களா?” எனக் கேட்டனர்.

அவர்கள் கடவுளின் பேழையை எக்ரோனுக்கு அனுப்பினார்கள். கடவுளின் பேழை எக்ரோனுக்கு வரவே, எக்ரோனியர், “எங்களையும் எங்கள் மக்களையும் அழிக்கவே இஸ்ரயேலரின் கடவுளது பேழையைக் கொண்டு வந்து விட்டார்கள்” என்று கத்தினார்கள்.
