சாமுவேல் சர்வாங்க தகனபலியைச் செலுத்துகையில், பெலிஸ்தர் இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ண நெருங்கினார்கள்; கர்த்தர் மகா பெரிய இடிமுழக்கங்களைப் பெலிஸ்தர்மேல் அந்நாளிலே முழங்கப்பண்ணி, அவர்களைக் கலங்கடித்ததினால், அவர்கள் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முன்பாகப் பட்டு விழுந்தார்கள்.

சாமுவேல் சர்வாங்க தகனபலியைச் செலுத்தும்போது, பெலிஸ்தர்கள் இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் யுத்தம்செய்ய நெருங்கினார்கள்; கர்த்தர் மகா பெரிய இடிமுழக்கங்களைப் பெலிஸ்தர்கள்மேல் அந்த நாளிலே முழங்கச்செய்து, அவர்களைக் கலங்கடித்ததால், அவர்கள் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முன்பாக தோற்கடிக்கப்பட்டு மடிந்தார்கள்.

சாமுவேல் தகனபலியைச் செலுத்திக் கொண்டிருக்கும்போது, பெலிஸ்தர்கள் இஸ்ரவேலர்களுடன் போரிட வந்தனர். ஆனால் கர்த்தர் பெலிஸ்தியர்கள் பக்கம் பெரிய இடிமுழங்குமாறு செய்தார். இது பெலிஸ்தரைக் அச்சப்படுத்தியது, மேலும் குழப்பியது. தலைவர்களால் அவர்களைக் கட்டுப்படுத்த இயலவில்லை. எனவே இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் அவர்களைப் போரில் தோற்கடித்தனர்.
