ராஜா ஜனங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடாமற்போனான், கர்த்தர் சீலோனியனான அகியாவைக்கொண்டு நேபாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாமுக்குச் சொன்ன தமது வார்த்தையை உறுதிப்படுத்தும்படி தேவனாலே இப்படி நடந்தது.

ராஜா, மக்கள் சொல்வதைக் கேட்காமற்போனான்; கர்த்தர் சீலோனியனான அகியாவைக்கொண்டு நேபாத்தின் மகனாகிய யெரொபெயாமுக்குச் சொன்ன தமது வார்த்தையை உறுதிப்படுத்த தேவனாலே இப்படி நடந்தது.

எனவே அரசன் ரெகொபெயாம் ஜனங்கள் கூறியதைக் கேட்கவில்லை. இம்மாற்றங்கள் தேவனிடமிருந்து வந்ததினால் அவன் ஜனங்கள் கூறியதைக் கேட்கவில்லை. தேவன் இந்த விளைவை ஏற்படுத்தினார். அகியாவின் மூலமாக யெரொபெயாமுடன் கர்த்தர் பேசிய அவரது வார்த்தை உண்மையாகும்படி இது நடந்தது. அகியா சிலோனிய ஜனங்களிடமிருந்து வந்தவன். யெரொபெயாம் நேபாத்தின் மகன்.

இவ்வாறு, அரசன் மக்களுக்குச் செவிகொடுக்கவேயில்லை; ஏனெனில், சீலோவியரான அகியா மூலம் நெபாற்றின் மகன் எரொபவாமிடம் ஆண்டவர் கூறிய வார்த்தைகள் நிறைவேற, இவை யாவும் கடவுளால் நிகழ்ந்தன.⒫
