அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆகாப் கீலேயாத்திலுள்ள ராமோத்தில் போய் விழும்படிக்கு, அவனுக்குப் போதனைசெய்கிறவன் யார் என்று கேட்டதற்கு, ஒருவன் இப்படியும் ஒருவன் அப்படியும் சொன்னார்கள்.

கர்த்தர், ‘ராமோத் கீலேயாத் நகரின் மேல் படையெடுக்குமாறு செய்து அப்போரில் ஆகாப் மரிக்குமாறு செய்ய, யாரால் தந்திரமாய்ச் செயல்பட முடியும்?’ என்று கேட்டார். அதற்கு ஒவ்வொருவரும் வெவ்வேறானதைக் கூறினார்கள்.

அந்நேரத்தில் ஆண்டவர், ‘இஸ்ரயேலின் அரசனான ஆகாபு இராமோத்து-கிலயாதிற்குச் சென்று அங்கே வீழ்ச்சியடையும்படி அவனை வஞ்சிக்கப்போகிறவன் யார்?’ என்று கேட்க, அதற்கு ஒருவன் ஒன்றைச் சொல்ல, மற்றொருவன் வேறொன்றைச் சொன்னான்.
