இந்த யுத்தத்தைப் பண்ணுகிறவர்கள் நீங்கள் அல்ல; யூதா மனுஷரே, எருசலேம் ஜனங்களே, நீங்கள் தரித்துநின்று கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குச் செய்யும் இரட்சிப்பைப் பாருங்கள்; பயப்படாமலும் கலங்காமலும் இருங்கள்; நாளைக்கு அவர்களுக்கு எதிராகப் புறப்படுங்கள்; கர்த்தர் உங்களோடே இருக்கிறார் என்றான்.

இந்தப் போர் செய்கிறவர்கள் நீங்கள் அல்ல; யூதா மனிதர்களே, எருசலேம் மக்களே, நீங்கள் பொறுத்து நின்று கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குச் செய்யும் இரட்சிப்பைப் பாருங்கள்; பயப்படாமலும் கலங்காமலும் இருங்கள்; நாளைக்கு அவர்களுக்கு எதிராகப் புறப்படுங்கள; கர்த்தர் உங்களோடு இருக்கிறார் என்றான்.

இப்போரில் நீங்கள் சண்டையிடவே வேண்டாம். உங்கள் இடங்களில் உறுதியாக நில்லுங்கள். கர்த்தர் உங்களைக் காப்பாற்றுவதைக் காண்பீர்கள். யூதா நாட்டினரே! எருசலேமியர்களே! அஞ்சாதீர்கள். கவலைப்படாதீர்கள்! கர்த்தர் உங்களோடு இருக்கிறார். எனவே நாளை அவர்களுக்கு எதிராகச் செல்லுங்கள்’ என்றார்” என்று சொன்னான்.

அங்கே நீங்கள் போரிட வேண்டியதில்லை; அணிவகுத்து நின்றாலே போதும். யூதாவே! எருசலேமே! உங்கள் சார்பாக ஆண்டவர் கொள்ளும் வெற்றியைக் காண்பீர்கள்! எனவே, அஞ்சாமலும் நிலைகுலையாமலும் இருங்கள். நாளை அவர்களை நோக்கிச் செல்லுங்கள். ஆண்டவர் உங்களோடு இருப்பார்” என்றார்.⒫
