மரேசா ஊரானாகிய தொதாவானின் குமாரனான எலியேசர் யோசபாத்துக்கு விரோதமாகத் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லி: நீர் அகசியாவோடே கூடிக்கொண்டபடியினால், கர்த்தர் உம்முடைய கிரியைகளை முறித்துப்போட்டார் என்றான்; அந்தக் கப்பல்கள் உடைந்துபோயிற்று, அவர்கள் தர்ஷீசுக்குப் போகக் கூடாமற்போயிற்று.

பிறகு எலியேசர் யோசபாத்துக்கு எதிராகப் பேசினான். எலியேசரின் தந்தை பெயர் தொதொவா. எலியேசர் மரேசா ஊரினன். அவன், “யோசபாத், நீ அகசியாவோடு சேர்ந்துவிட்டாய். அதனால்தான் கர்த்தர் உனது வேலைகளை அழிப்பார்” என்றான். கப்பல்கள் நொறுங்கிப்போயின. அதனால் யோசபாத்தும், அகசியாவும் தம் ஆட்களை தர்ஷீசுக்கு அனுப்பமுடியாமல் போயிற்று.

ஆனால், மாரேசாவைச் சார்ந்த தோதவாவின் மகன் எலியேசர் யோசபாத்திற்கு எதிராக இறைவாக்குரைத்து “நீர் அகசியாவோடு சேர்ந்து கொண்டமையால் ஆண்டவர் உம் திட்டங்களை அழித்து விடுவார்” என்றார். அவ்வாறே, அக்கப்பல்கள் உடைந்துபோக, தர்சீசு பயணம் தடைப்பட்டது.
