எருசலேமின் குடிகள், அவன் இளையகுமாரனாகிய அகசியாவை அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவாக்கினார்கள்; அரபியரோடே கூடவந்து பாளயமிறங்கினதை தண்டிலிருந்தவர்கள் மூத்தகுமாரரையெல்லாம் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள்; இவ்விதமாய் அகசியா என்னும் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோராமின் குமாரன் அரசாண்டான்.

எருசலேமின் குடிமக்கள், அவனுடைய இளையமகனாகிய அகசியாவை அவனுடைய இடத்தில் ராஜாவாக்கினார்கள்; அரபியரோடு கூடவந்து முகாமிட்ட படையிலிருந்தவர்கள், மூத்தமகன்கள் அனைவரையும் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள்; இந்தவிதமாக அகசியா என்னும் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோராமின் மகன் ஆட்சிசெய்தான்.

யோராமின் இடத்திற்கு எருசலேம் ஜனங்கள் அகசியாவைப் புதிய அரசனாகத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தனர். அகசியா யோராமின் இளைய மகன் ஆவான். யோராமின் முகாமை அரபியர்களுடன் சேர்ந்துகொண்டு வந்தவர்கள் தாக்கியபோது, யோராமின் மூத்த மகன்களைக் கொன்றுவிட்டனர். எனவே அகசியா மட்டுமே மீதியாகயிருந்ததால் யூதாவின் அரசனானான்.

எருசலேம் வாழ் மக்கள் யோராமுக்குப் பதிலாக அவனுடைய இளையமகன் அகசியாவை அரசனாக்கினார்கள். ஏனெனில், அரேபியருடன் பாளையத்திற்குள் நுழைந்த கொள்ளைக் கூட்டத்தினர் மூத்த பிள்ளைகள் அனைவரையும் கொன்றுவிட்டனர். இவ்வாறு, யூதாவின் அரசன் யோராமின் மகன் அகசியா ஆட்சியேற்றான்.
